Tom Barry has served the city of Minot as its City Manager since 2016. Tom holds a
Bachelor's and three Master's degrees and possesses more than 20 years' experience in business and public administration. Mr. Barry has worked in both the private and public sectors and obtained experience at the federal, state and local levels. An award-winning local government leader, Mr. Barry's accomplishments include creating a nationally recognized, state-wide model for wellhead protection for Washington State, being awarded the "Government Partner of the Year" in Washington, leading the development of the first and multi-award-winning municipal reclaimed water program in the state of Idaho, being selected by the Idaho Business Review as one of the State's Top Emerging Leaders, receiving the Meridian Community Transformational Leadership Award, and being peernominated as the APWA Leader of the Year. Most recently under Mr. Barry's leadership, the city of Minot was awarded "City of the Year" for 2018-19 by the North Dakota League of Cities. Mr. Barry represents cities over 2,500 in the north central region.
