Dwaine Heinrich was born in 1948 in Murray County, Minnesota. He grew up on farms in South Dakota and Minnesota, graduating from high school in 1966. Military service followed high school and he went on to observe both his 19th and 20th birthdays serving with the US Army in South Vietnam. Dwaine has been active in his community and served for ten years as a member of the Jamestown City Council. He is also a past president of the North Dakota Elks Association and served as District Governor for the Lions of the East District of North Dakota. He received the Lions International President's Award for Leadership, the second highest award of Lions Clubs International. Dwaine was elected mayor of Jamestown in June 2018. He has been married to Joyce for 41 years and has one step-son, Troy LeFevre, and three grandchildren. Dwaine represents cities over 2,500 in the south central region.
