Strengthening Leadership

Empowering Local Leaders Across North Dakota

The Leadership Training Program (LTP) is a four-tier certificate program designed to help city officials strengthen their leadership skills and serve their communities more effectively.

Participants earn one credit for every hour of NDLC training, with credits clearly listed for each course. There’s no cost to enroll, but participants must register before earning credits. The program is fully customizable—there are no required courses, allowing you to select the training that best fits your interests and community needs.

  • Innovator Award – 30 credits

  • Visionary Award – 60 credits total

  • Leader Award – 100 credits total

  • 110% Award – 200 credits total

Points are earned by participating in the following activities:

  • Webinars: 1 point each
  • Training On-Demand: 1 point each
  • Local Government Capitol Connection: up to 5 points
  • Spring Workshop: up to 14 points
  • HR Collaborative Conference: up to 6 points
  • Annual Conference: up to 14 points
  • Auditor Certification: 6 points
